January 27, 2007 ODR 15 Event at RVC West
Synergy 15 has a rough start taking 5th, but we learned a lot!
There were 8 teams in this one day event played at the RVC West location. There were two pools playing 3 games to 21. Synergy 15 loses to RVC N and Costal 15 in tight games which kept us for going to finals bracket play. Clash 15 Chaos beat Coast 25-16, 25-16 in semi finals and RVC National beat Williamsburg Black, 25-23, and 25-19. The final match for the win was RVC National against Clash Chaos. It lasted three long games with RVC N taking the victory.
This was our first tournament of the season. We could see the strength in our team and we learned what we need to improve. The competition this year is really fun. There are a lot of strong competitive teams. The players and parents are excited about the future of this team.

Synergy 15 Takes 3rd Place in Gold Open Division
We had a great weekend. There were 36, 15's team broken down into two Divisions, Open and Club. We were in the Open Division. In our first wave we had 4 wins and 1 lost. We played Virginia Beach Volleyball Academy and I.C Stars. We won both matches.( I.C. Stars took one game from us) . The second wave we had 3 wins and 2 lost. We beat Triangle Blue and lost a a tight match that went three games to Triangle Black. The girls found there rhythm and were playing well. We went back to the hotel for a nice Italian Dinner and the girls were pasted out by 11 PM. We started the day at 6 :15 AM with breakfast and a cold walk to the Richmond Convention Center (the hotel van had broken down). The girls came out strong beating Clash 15 and Williamsburg Black 15 in tight games. These wins put us in the gold playoff bracket. There were 8 teams in the playoffs for the gold. East Carolina(ECJVA) beat(don't know the name) for a spot in the top 4. Virginia Elite beat Triangle Black, Volleyball 4 Youth beat Virginia Beach Volleyball Academy Gold's team, and MVSA Chaos beat RVC national team for the rest of the spots. First up was ECJVA against Virginia Elite, they lost in two games. Then it was Volleyball 4 Youth against MVSA Chaos. VB4Y lost in three hard fought games, our girls were just too tired to over come some frustrations that took place early on with out of rotation calls and a line up change .Overall we had a strong showing. We ended third in the 15's Open Division. Virginia Elite beat MVSA Chaos is a wonderful match that went three games for the Open Gold Division Title.
