VB4Y Sponsorship information and form

VB4Y members will submit the forms to our coaching staff, or to Volleyball 4 Youth, P.O. Box 68127, Virginia Beach, VA 23471.

VB4Y is a non-profit organization affiliated with the AAU, USAV, AVCA, JVA, FCA and the Positive Coaching Alliance. All of our fund-raising dollars have been used to purchase equipment, rental space, bring in special guest coaches, pay for administrative supplies, web-site cost, coach expenses, and team bonding events and tournaments. We are always in need of volunteer coaches, and parents to run the operation. VB4Y also helps foster volleyball programs in other areas of the country and world through used equipment, training, and events. VB4Y does not charge a membership fee.

VB4Y reserves the right to exclude a player or their family from participating in any of their events for inappropriate behavior in or away from the club activities. We are a christain based program that expects our members to teach the traits of humanity by example. Disrespect or Foul language will not be tolorated by any member of a players family.

Cost to play Club Volleyball

Junior Club Fees vary greatly in our area. Depending on the club, practice venues, coaches, equipment fees, travel expenses and tournaments fees, individuals can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $5,000.00 per season. Most clubs offer fund-raising opportunities for their members.

Each Club has a different way of presenting their expenses to potential Junior Club Members. Some of these expenses are set expenses while others vary. AAU coaches are not required to be certified, USAV coaches are required to be Impact Certified. This is a one time fee per coach, and once passed is not required yearly.( Any USAV member can take "The Impact Class", the fee varies by region from $25-$75.00 per person.) Coaches attending Nationals might be required in the future to be CAP 1 certified. This is a course that can be taken online for less than $300.00. Again a one time fee.

Review your club fees and ask questions, Club Team Fees cover some of the following expenses associated with junior travel club opportunities.

  • Team Members backpack or Duffle Bag
  • Team Members Personal Uniform Items
    • (t shirts, shorts, socks, jacket and gym pants)
  • Court Jerseys
  • Club Team Membership Fees
    • usually covers maintenance of web site, administrative services and provides club updates and newsletter by e mail,
  • USAV Team Registration Fee
  • AAU Team Registration Fee
  • Tournament Entry Fees
    • which vary between $125-$1,000 a tournament
  • Use of equipment and supplies
    • Practice gym rental (the average fee is $25-35 an hour)
    • balls, carts, nets, video equipment, training materials and supplies.
  • Salaries paid
    • Most clubs pay salaries to the Club Director, Site Director, Administrative personnel and coaches.
  • Coaches Salaries
    • Average is $100 a player, or as high as $5,000 a team-some coaches get paid for practice time and per matches played, while others take a one time fee for the season. Some clubs have volunteer coaches
  • Assistant coaches
    • salaries vary from-0-$2,500 for the season. (usually depends on the club and coaches experience.)
  • Background checks and membership for AAU and or USAV
    • Club Directors, Coaches, Chaperones, and Team Parent are all required to have a background check and membership. These fees vary from $25-$50 a person. They are also required to attend an Impact Class if participating in USAV Events. The one time fee per person for the class is $50-$125.
  • All team members travel expenses such as food, gas, housing, entry fees, parking fees, airline fees, taxi fees, etc.. are usually covered by the team.
  • fund-raising supplies
  • Other Program Expenses
    • Postal fees of tournament forms, all team members medical notarization forms, team medical bag, coaches CPR training, web site, coach training and out-of-pocket expenses, publicity material and supplies, club insurance, directors salary, coaches practice salaries, ...etc.
  • Coaches per diem (Average is $30.00-$60.00per day for all events).
  • Coaches transportation
    • If it is more than a 4 hour drive, usually a coach can chose to fly or make alternate travel arrangements with the directors approval at the teams expense.

Most clubs give players an outline to the expected expenses based on the tournament schedule selected by the director and coach. Once a player has been made an offer to join a club team, the club will usually give that player 48 hours to accept or decline a position on their team.

Once you have signed your contract to participate with your club team you will be required to start your payments. Most clubs do not give refunds. If a player joins a team, and later decides to quite or is asked to leave, that player usually forfeits all of its fund-raising account funds and is still required to fulfill it's team financial contract. Even if a player decides to change teams before playing in a tournament, they are still required to pay the committed dues for that team unless they have been released from their contract. If it does not cause a hardship to the team financially the player is usually released of its financial commitment to the team for the remainder of the season.

Once a player joins a team and plays in a sanctioned event by USAV or AAU, that player is not allowed to play for a different club in that same year. Our region has been known to waivers to players under certain circumstances. A player may play for a different team within the same club as long as that player has not qualified with a team for a USAV national event. Once they qualify for a national event as a team, they cannot play for another team until after the national event has taken place. There are many options and levels of team commitments available in our area. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact the different club directors, and or the USAV Old Dominion Region Director at www.odrvb.org .

You need to ask questions to find the right match for your needs. Each Club runs their programs differently-this is just a guideline which I hope is helpful for those entering the Junior Club Program. There is no rule against a person starting up their own club with just one team. If you have at least 7 players, and are interested in forming your own club team, please feel welcome to contact me for details on how to proceed, or check out the www.odrvb.org or www.aausports.org web-sites for more information.
